Scope and Contents
Poetry submissions files for the Washington Post where Kenton Kilmer was poetry editor. A price marked is marked in Kilmer's hand amounting to $0.25 per line for the following accepted works: John Ackerson ("Miramar," "Triese"); Sara van Alstyne Allen ("Old Maid," "You in the Indian Summer"); Russell Pettis Askue ("Triolet," etc.), Christman Lansing ("These September Hours," "Picking Wild Blackberries," "Quiet as the Summer Dark"); E. Dalwick ("Elizabeth - By the Water," "White Stone Brook," "Wild Morning Glories"); Frederich Ebright ("Hunting Print," "Voyagers, Voyagers"); Mae Winkler Goodman ("The Tiger"); R. H. Grenville ("Poet to Astronomer"); Gertrude May Lutz ("Color of Wind"); Elsa Millstrom ("I Look at My Tools"), David Morton ("One Way of Time"); Kathryne E. Scoville (unnamed), and Mary Willis Shelburne (photocopy, "Locusts").
Further there are works by Clarence Jonk ("Harvest"); Joseph Joel Keith (unnamed); David Atamian (unnamed); A. E. Hammond (unnamed); Helen Hartness Flanders ("Weather Report"); Helen Howland Prommel (unnamed); and David Hudson (unnamed, "Mutable"). Also included are holograph letters from Pamela M. Synge re: the poem "Tombstone" (1949) and Meg Leamy, the wife of poet Hugh Leamy (1938), as well as signed letters from Anobel Armour, John Bunker, Albert Doyle, Kimball Flaccus, Howard Griffin, A. E. Johnson, Herman Salinger, Grace Stillman Minck, Daniel Smyth, Katherine H. Strong, and John Hall Wheelock.

Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval.
