Family correspondence, 1889

 File — Box: 2, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

The correspondence series consists primarily of family correspondence from Charles Strong's parents and siblings, with occasional letters from friends and colleagues. Of particular note are the many letters from Strong's father, the Baptist theologian Augustus Hopkins Strong, which were written with regularity nearly every Sunday; these letters indicate an interest and engagement on the part of A.H. Strong in his son's philosophical work and it's relation to Charles' theological understanding and Christian vocation.

The Correspondence series is arranged chronologically, with miscellaneous letters from individuals, universities and organizations, as well as undated family letters, arranged at the end of the series.
