29. Two maps
Scope and Contents
Two maps made and used by Edwin Emerson during Russo-Japanese War. Both are on paper measuring 20x24 inches, and are slightly different. Pasted on at the top of one is the caption written by Emerson: "The First Year of the War in Manchuria. From the Japanese Landing in Korea until the Fall of Mukden. Drawn by Col. Emerson from Data furnished by Japanese General Staff." On the other map the pasted on caption by Emerson reads: "The First Year of the War in Manchuria. From the Japanese Landing in Korea (March 10, 1904) until the Fall of Mukden (March 10, 1905). Drawn by Col. Emerson from Data furnished by the Japanese General Staff." See item 9.
