Scope and Contents

1. 3 typed documents in English, including a notice from the Queen of England granting Martin permission to wear the insignia of the Grand Cross of Merit with Star; and 2. 21 manuscript and typed letters from friends, colleagues, and students, some written for his 60th birthday (1932), including one autograph letters signed from Hsu Dau-Lin (1907-1973), a distinguished Chinese legal scholar, classmate of Konrad Wolff, and personal secretary to Chiang Kai-Shek. He later emigrated to the United States, where he taught at the University of Washington, Michigan State University, and Columbia University. In German and Latin.

Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.
