Three-page typed correspondence to Senator Earle B. Mayfield (D-TX), father of John S., signed from Marcus Garvey, President-General of the Universal Negro Improvement Association. It includes a symposium on race with questions such as "Do you believe the Negro to be a human being?" and "Do you believe the Negro entitled to all the rights of humanity?"; dated October 18, 1923. Item removed from Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey, or: Africa for the Africans by Marcus and Amy Jacques Garvey.
