Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Biographical / Historical
Charles Neaves, Lord Neaves, born in Edinburgh, was a Scottish advocate, justdge, theologian, and writer. He served as Solicitor General for Scotland, as a judge on the Supreme Court of Scotland, and as Rector of the University of St Andrews. Neaves regularly contributed poetry and critical essays to Blackwood's Magazine. He was a supporter of women's rights and believed that women should be able to obtain university degrees.
