General
References made to Ora's father's conduct towards EBM, the Boyce-Sneed murder case. A 16-page letter dated 1912 from Shreveport, Louisiana is very interesting. In this letter references made to "white homesteads & negro cabins", inscription on a monument dedicated to "first band of white men in South who resisted negro supremacy" in the beginning years of Reconstruction. A 1915 letter describes the RR Commissioners Convention. Also in most of letters are references to a form of "Christian love" which offers a fascinating glimpse into the concept of love during this period. A September 29th letter talks of one "Mape" & his political chances as a "populist" & an "infidel" - excellent for political situation in Texas.
