The John F. Stevens Papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, news clippings, books, photographs, blueprints and maps collected by John F. Stevens. The Papers are arranged in 8 Series according to subject and material type, in 11 boxes and 1 map case drawer.

Conditions Governing Access
Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are
open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a
minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact
the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.

Includes the following items: numerous photos of the dedication ceremonies of the statute of JFS at Marias Pass and photos of a Native American ceremony; 1 TLS from William Howard Taft to Harriett Stevens (26 Dec 1907); 2 printed invitations from Theodore Roosevelt to JFS; 1 printed invitation from William Howard Taft to JFS; 1 TLS from William Howard Taft to JFS (23 Dec 1910); 1 TLS from Woodrow Wilson to JFS asking JFS to go to Siberia with the American Commission (27 Apr 1917) and 1 TLS from Wilson concerning the same position (1 May 1917) with JFS' reply (carbon); 1 TLS from Ira E. Bennett, editor of the Washington Post, to JFS (9 Jul 1926); 1 telegram from Queen Marie of Romania to JFS (8 Nov 1926) with JFS'reply (carbon); 1 cartoon of JFS from (1905); 1 ALS from Margaret Roosevelt to Harriett Stevens (undated, "Sagamore Hill"); 2 TLSs from Robert Bliss of the U. S. State Department to JFS (6 Apr 1923, 20 Apr 1923); and 4 TLSs from secretaries of U. S. Presidents at the White House to JFS.
