The John F. Stevens Papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, news clippings, books, photographs, blueprints and maps collected by John F. Stevens. The Papers are arranged in 8 Series according to subject and material type, in 11 boxes and 1 map case drawer.

Conditions Governing Access
Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are
open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a
minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact
the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.

Container Summary
The Personal and Family Series consists of personal correspondence, biographical information, and genealogical materials relating to John F. Stevens and the rest of the Stevens Family. A considerable amount of material by Harriett O'Brien Stevens, including many letters to her son, Eugene Stevens, while he was in college, are included in this series. Also included in this series are correspondence and ephemera relating to Stevens' receipt of the John Fritz Medal (1925), the Herber Hoover Medal (1939), and an award from the Czechoslovak and Japanese governments. U.S. Postage stamps for the Canal Zone honoring John F. Stevens are also in this series.
