From the Collection:

The Rogers Family Papers consist of fifteen series, the first being on the Rogers & Clarke families in general, and the remainder focusing on the papers of individuals such as James Webb Rogers I, J. Harris Rogers, James Charles Rogers, Cora Rogers Clarke, Phillips H. Clarke Jr., Mae Harris Clarke and George E. Sullivan. The final series contains objects and oversize materials of varying types.

Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Container Summary

Phillips Huntington Clarke, Jr. (1905-1979), the son of Phillips H. Clarke, Sr. and Cora A. Rogers Clarke, carried on the tradition of the Clarke and Rogers families by going into real estate development. He developed neighborhoods in Hyattsville, Bladensburg, and the District of Columbia (Randle Highlands), as well as industrial parks in Maryland and Virginia. The series includes real estate charts and documents as well as personal clippings and some correspondence. The series also includes a few items concerning Clarke's ather and his grandfather, Rufus L.B. Clarke: a diary kept by Phillips H. Clarke, Sr. from 1909 and real estate papers of R.L. B. Clarke concerning Randle Highlands and his estate.
