From the Collection:

The archives of James Charles Welbore Ellis Agar (1818 - 1896), 3rd Earl of Normanton, consisting of 3.0 linear feet of material, including correspondence, drawings, legal documents, and related printed items. This collection is of importance to art historians as well as to historians of English history and culture. It would be invaluable for any studies of the Agar family; 19th century London (especially the Victoria and Albert Museum and Kensingtron Park areas); English legal history; and the history of Hampshire county.
