Manuscript #276: 2 letters from Christina Rossetti (1830-1894) to Algernon Charles Swinburne. 1. ALS (undated, 3 pages), from 30 Torrington Square, Thursday Evening. Reference to receiving "by the obligin hand of Mr. Watts," Swinburne's "A Study of Shakespeare," (1880). Includes a belated acknowledgement of Swinburne's "Erechtheus: A Tragedy," (1876); and sends "remembrances" from her mother Mary Frances (Polidori) Rossetti (d.1886). 2. ALS (undated, 1 page + signature page + postmarked envelope, all on mourning stationery), from 30 Torrington Square, Friday. Acknowledges the gift of Swinburne's "Astrophel and Other Poems," (Chatto & Windus, 1894), which included the poem, "Grace Darling." See also Curatorial File and Index Card #276.
