Manuscript #188: ALS dated January 31, 1895 (1 page + postmarked envelope) from Algernon Charles Swinburne to James Knowles acknowledging receipt of payment for the poem "To a Baby Kinswoman," originally published in "The Nineteenth Century," December 1894; republished in "A Channel Passage and Other Poems," (Chatto & Windus, 1904). The poem was written by Swinburne for Mildred Leith, the granddaughter of Mary Gordon Leith. See notes by Mayfield in the Curatorial File and Index Card #188. The Curatorial File also includes correspondence from Mildred Leith to Mayfield.
