The Campaign Files deal primarily with Wagner's Senate career, although one box contains a few speeches from as early as 1915. Included in this series are materials covering Al Smith's presidential campaign of 1928, the presidential campaigns of 1932, 1936, 1940 and 1944, and various New York state campaigns. Documentation of the 1938 New York state constitutional convention is to be found in this along with material on such issues as housing, banking, lynching, public utilities and TVA, price control, veterans, and civil rights. Campaign materials may also be found in the General Files; the researcher should also look to the Legislative Files for more material on matters covered here as campaign issues.
