Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Library Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off-site require a minimum of 3 days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.

From the File: 0.25 Linear Feet (32 letters. Alphabetical order by person who wrote the letter. Three of the letters do not have Civil War dates, but they were kept in this series because they were donated together with the Civil War letters. The letters are the gift of Joseph E. Jeffs.)

1 Autograph Letter Signed (with envelope) to his Father James Williams and his Mother. References to being 18 to 20 miles from Richmond, plentiful farm crops, a reconnoitering expedition conducted by his unit, bridges burned by Confederates, and back-and-forth firing of batteries while his regiment laid flat on the ground between the cannons. Sent from "on the road to Richmond" to Point Pleasant, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
