3:4. American Interests #621 (1 of 2): "U.S.-Soviet Space Race.", FY 1986-1987
Scope and Contents
This collection contains background/research material in the form of copies of news articles, papers and reports for the topics of two PBS television series on U.S. foreign affairs, moderated from 1980 to 2005 by Peter Krogh, Dean, School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University. The series were: "American Interests," and "Great Decisions" (also known as "World Beat: Great Decisions in Foreign Policy"). The latter was a collaboration of the Foreign Policy Association and Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and was produced by World Beat Associates, beginning in 1989, an adjunct of the latter institution. Topics primarily covered economic and military relations with African countries, Canada, Latin America, and the Soviet Union. Specific information about each program is provided in series notes. Subject headings for this collection do not exhaustively cover all topics, therefore, a full search at the container summary level is recommended. Background files are not available for the entire series. Where possible, episode numbers are noted in folder descriptions/labels and correspond to existing audio-visual recordings in the Dean Peter Krogh Foreign Affairs Digital Archive.
