Container Summary

2 black-and-white photographs. One labeled: "Every soldier of Uncle Sam's great army, and every sailor on the seas, is to receive a Christmas box this year. The soldier's or sailor's family will pack it, and the American Red Cross in cooperation with the War and Navy Departments will see to its proper delivery. The picture above shows a quartet of Yanks receiving Christmas boxes last year." The other is labeled: "Even before the United States Army landed on European soil the American Red Cross was doing effective work in France. Perhaps few soldiers of any army have shown more courage than some of the chauffeurs that drove ambulances, motor trucks and supply wagons for the American Red Cross in France. Here are some of these chauffeurs, including college men, scions of wealthy families and ordinary 'huskies' receiving their Christmas mail at the Central Red Cross Garage in Paris."
