6 typed and handwritten manuscripts of paraphrases of the five telegrams sent by JDM in Rome to Franklin D. Roosevelt in Washington in March, 1940 concerning JDM's interview with Hitler earlier that month. Telegrams include: 1) 11 Mar 1940, a general summary of European reaction; 2) 12 Mar 1940, an outline of discussion with Hitler on March 4th; 3) 13 Mar 1940, notation that message #3 on Goering discussions re Finland is included verbatim in message #4; 4) 14 Mar 1940, an outline of discussion with Herman Goering on March 7th; 5) 15 Mar 1940, a memorandum containing "some suggestions dealing with this entire problem (of war and peace)." Reference to Joachim von Ribbentrop and Helmuth Wohlthat.
