Container Summary

Folder contains correspondence of Father Andrew Graves, S.J., covering the period 1937-1941. There are newsletters of Father Graves to friends and supporters which contain parish and personal news items. Of particular interest is one such newsletter (Oct. 15, 1941) describing his living conditions and first encounters with the area. There is also correspondence regarding the establishment of Negro missions. Another letter (Sept. 2, 1937) describes personal difficulties encountered upon arrival into Revere, N.C., as well as a description of the extent of Catholicism in the area.
