Container Summary

Included in this folder is the business and personal correspondence of Andrew Graves, S.J., for the period 1970-1972. Of particular interest is a letter (Nov. 30, 1971) from Vincent S. Waters, Bishop of Raleigh, announcing Pope Paul VI's establishment of the Diocese of Charlotte, to be derived from part of the Diocese of Raleigh. It also announces the appointment of Monsignor Michael J. Begley, Pastor of Our Lady of Grace Parish [Greensboro, North Carolina], as the diocese's first bishop.
