Container Summary
Within this folder is material concerning history of the Catholic Church in Madison County, North Carolina essentially from 1904-1966. The material also includes background data extending as far back as 1848 which deals not only with Catholicism in the general Madison County area, but also neighboring southern states during the 19th Century. The folder consists of two typescripts, a fragment of third typescript and a manuscript. The manuscript additionally mentions the entrance of Jesuits into the area (1926).
