Container Summary

Provides notes concerning the history of Madison County, North Carolina and surrounding areas dating from the discovery of Hot Springs (1778) and the popularity of the baths (1779) to the events of the year 1927. Folder also provides a photostatic copy of a printed article dealing with the early history and settlement of North Carolina. Included also are some brief statistics concerning Negro slavery in Madison County (1860).
