Container Summary

1 Autographed Letter Signed. Mr. R. C. Fage writes to Hugh Merrick upon receiving a gift of Merrick's book, Out of the Night (London: Robert Hale, 1957). Mr. Fage is quite touched. He is impressed with Merrick's ability to combine his knowledge of mountaineering with a "gift of authorship." Mr. Fage mentions anecdotes from his time in business and his dealings with Merrick, and he seems to regret being retired at present. Mr. Fage mentions Merrick's intention of retiring in the coming year. Mentions the Alpine Club.
