Container Summary
2 Typed Letters Signed. Mr. A. R. Brown writes to Hugh Merrick (07/04/1962) about traveling through the Alps, and particularly about taking the Passo di Gavia. He mentions how much he enjoyed Hugh Merrick's book; it "trebled the pleasure" of his holiday. [Mr. Brown probably refers to The Great Motor Highways of the Alps, revised edition (London: R. Hale, 1961), first edition published in 1958.] However, he does suggest that better maps would be an advantage, as would culling the maps in one section. Mr. Brown writes again on 07/17/1962 in response to a letter from Merrick; he discusses alterations to Merrick's chapter on the Stelvio and mentions the state of roads throughout Europe.
