Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The David Landers Collection contains manuscript fragments from antiquity. Several of the manuscripts are from Egypt, including a Demotic business document on papyrus circa 600 BCE, a linen fragment from about 800 BCE, and a coffin fragment circa 1959 BCE - 1918 BCE. Other documents are Greek, including uncial fragments on papyrus from about the 4th Century. The collection is arranged into 7 folders.

Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. Physical Description

Highly important Greek uncial fragments on papyrus from a 4th Century CE fragment of Exodus. Greek uncial biblical fragments are of the greatest rarity. Computer programs can locate the fragments within the text. Three pieces: 35 x 11 mm; 23 x 27 mm; 29 x 15 mm.
