Series-level Scope and Content Note
This series contains the correspondence related to Rebecca Hamlin Farley and her family. Rebecca (1805-1878) was the second daughter of Hannibal Hamlin (d. 1811) and Susan Faulkner Hamlin (d. 1840). She married Charles Farley (d. 1877) of Portland, Maine in 1826 and had nine children.

Contains the correspondence sent by members of the Farley family to unidentified, 3 items. [Note: Two of the three letters are fragments. Farley has been written as Farly in one of the letters and has been indexed according to that spelling.] The subject of the correspondence relates to family matters, with reference in one of the letters to a rumor circulating about the racially mixed ancestors of the Hamlin family and another discussing an 1843 trip to Boston, with reference to the different sites she visited, including the museum at the Missionary rooms.
