Container Summary
This folder contains two headings: (1) "Du coup d'oeuil militaire, et de la conduite instructive que doit tenir un officier general [?] ou particulier en campagne", and (2) Emplacement of Bridges in the War and their Formation. Note: "coup d'oeil," meaning literally "a glance or blow to the eye," was used to refer to a commander's ability to assess the terrain for its use in tactical purposes (Brent Nosworthy, "Battle Tactics of Napoleon and His Enemies," London: Constable, 1995, p. 494-5). Note that "coup d'oeuil" is spelled with a "u" in the text.
