Sent in a Jester of Columbia stationary envelope. Return address Haverstraw Bay. Sent to Edward Rice c/o Robert Lax, Olean, New York. Reference to unidentified literary work and of marijuana seeds enclosed for Rice to plant in his garden. TL 7/4/ny, 2 pages/1 sheet. Addressed to "salaam sahib" from "oran". Reference to the recent activities of Robert Gerdy and Ralph Gleason, as well as to the university's proposal to move the Jester of Columbia's office to a smaller space and Rice's situation at ?Olean, New York. TL nd, 1 page/1 sheet [incomplete]. Addressed to "rumphot rice". Re. miscellaneous literary and historical figures. TL nd, 2 pages/2 sheets [photocopy]. Addressed to "cold-in-hand rice" from "oran". Reference to numerous mutual acquaintances, including Ralph Gleason, Thomas Merton, and Robert Lax, as well as to the writer's activities in North Carolina and Rice's experiences in Olean, New York.
