Public and semi-public discussion on issues, particular strategic nuclear, arising from ACDA analyses for the SALT II talks and opposing responses. A copy of the basic paper, "U.S. and Soviet Strategic Capability through the Mid-1980s; A Comparative Analysis." A letter (TLS) from Secretary of Defense Harold Brown containing a brief discussion of parallels between it and his DoD studies. A transcript of Warnke's press conference about the study. Finally, a critical view of the study from Eugene Rostow, Paul Nitze, and Richard Pipes of the Committee on the Present Danger with a counter-analysis from Alfred Lieberman of ACDA.
