Of note, a two-page letter (TLS) from Tristram Coffin on the Middle American view of Washington and politicians, a letter (TLS) from Mary (Mrs Wistar M.) Janney criticizing Muskie's handling of the 'woman question' on Face the Nation. Also, the text of Muskie's CBS Television announcement of his candidacy and a strong critique of the production in a memo from Frederick Dutton to Clark Clifford.
