1 Autograph Letter Signed dated 6/3/1861 from Peter J. Sullivan to Ohio Governor Salmon P. Chase, regarding acceptance of Sullivan's command in the Union army. References to Sullivan's service in the Mexican War, Governor Dennison's call for volunteers, and Simon Cameron remembering Sullivan. Postscript: Sullivan was the only Irish Yankee to raise a regiment in Ohio. Sent from Brown's Hotel in Washington, D.C.
