1 Autograph Letter Signed dated 8/10/1867 from Peter J. Sullivan to U.S. Secretary of State William H. Seward, regarding Sullivan's arrival in Bogota, Colombia and Sullivan's speech to the President of Colombia. References to being delayed by fighting to assuming is post in Colombia, the reception of Colombians to the American Legation there, the war between Colombia and the state of Bolivar, the possibility of South American governments joining together as one nation, and fighting in Mexico. Sent from Bogota, Colombia to Washington, D.C.
