1 Autograph Letter dated 3/12/1867 from Peter J. Sullivan to Rutherford B. Hayes, indicating that Sullivan just learned that his nomination as U.S. Minister to Colombia was before the U.S. Senate for confirmation. Description of Sulivan's Civil War career. Sullivan noted that he did not make political speeches against Hayes and Eggleston. Reference to the copperhead faction. Sullivan explained that he was receiving a pension for his war wounds. Sullivan believed that a change of climate would help his health. Sent from Cincinnati, Ohio.
