Container Summary

1 Typed Resolution Signed (in Spanish) unanimously passed by the Municipal Council of Panama on 6/4/1903, discussing the construction of the Panama Canal across the isthmus as beneficial to the Republic of Colombia and the Department of Panama. They ask the Congress and Municipalities to support the Hay-Herran Treaty and ask that the resolution be printed and distributed in leaflets or flyers so that the citizens know the treaty is supported by a majority. Signed by President of the Municipal Council of Panama Demetrio H. Bird and Secretary Ernesto J. Goti with the seal of the President of the City Council of the Department of Panama in the Republic of Colombia. Document appeared in the Imperial Star and Herald in Panama.
