Paraguay. Sammelband of Manuscript Documents Defending Jesuit Activities in Paraguay (Paraguay, c. 1760). Ten documents bound in one. Folio. A diverse and engaging assortment of documents relating to the controversial activities of the Jesuits in Paraguay in the mid-18th century. Sir Thomas Phillipps possessed what was likely the best single manuscript archive of the subject, much of what was purchased by Sir Leicester Harmsworth during the 1919 Phillipps sale.
