Container Summary

Napoleon I. Autograph Letter Signed (in French) to Napoleon I from his sister Elisa Grand Duchesse of Toscane, 2 pages. Written on "Ministry of War" letterhead. Signed by Minister of War Clarke Duc de Feltre. On left side of first page in the margin Napoleon signs "NB' to note his approval. Napoleon's sister requests that General of Brigade Pouchin be put in charge of the of the department of L'Arno to replace General de Brigade Basquier who will command the deparetment of L'Ombrone. She compliments Pouchin's abilities. Dated 11/27/1811. Gift of Thierry van Essche, 2004.
