Container Summary
Hemmingway, Emily. Partly Printed Document, 3 pages. Consists of a widow's claim by Emily Hemmingway for a pension. She was the widow of Walter Hemmingway of the 16th Regiment of New York Artillery during the Civil War. A circular is attached to the claim: "An Act to increase the pensions of widows and dependent relatives of deceased soldiers and sailors." Her claim is dated 8/14/1865, and the Circular is dated 5/1/1886.
