Caption on back of photo: "Monsignor Francisco Borgongini-Duca, the Papal Nuncio to Rome, who is expected to be recalled by Pope Pius XI, following the dissolving by premier Mussolini of all organizations of Catholic youths in Italy. The Pontiff may even sever diplomatic relations with Italy, reliable sources said June 1." Photo stamped 6/4/1931. Transferred from the Minneapolis Public Library.
