The Joseph E. Jeffs Papers contain correspondence between the former University Librarian at Georgetown University, Joseph E. Jeffs, and a number of scholars and writers. Among the significant individuals with whom Jeffs kept in contact are Ambassador William H. Taft, III, writer Yvonne Cloetta, and author Graham Greene. There are also letters in the collection from Norman Mailer and Anthony Thwaite, as well as a collection of newspaper clippings on Graham Greene. Jeffs also collected numerous quotes written by various authors from their own works.

The letter also discusses projects Lowndes-Marques is working on, including "The Selective Traveller in Portugal", which is being published by London's Gulbenkian Foundation, a book on English art in Portugal with photographs by Nicholas Sapieha, and the Fodor Guide to Portugal for 1992. She also references a visit Jeffs may make to Portugal, Julie Kernan, and traveling to Russia. Dated 8/27/1990.
