Items relating to Janet Adam Smith, forwarded to Shirley Hazzard by Smith's son Andrew Roberts -- 1. Copy of TLS dated 2/11/1974 to Smith from Graham Greene commenting on David Daiches' biography, "Robert Louis Stevenson," (1947), with a comparison to Smith's own book on Stevenson, "R.L. Stevenson," (1937, 1978). Greene also refers to an incident involving Jorge Luis Borges quoting a poem by Stevenson, "Underwoods XXXVIII," while being helped across a street by Greene in Buenos Aires. The poem is included with the letter, in Greene's hand (copy). 2. Copy of printed review by Greene of Lettice Cooper's biography, "Robert Louis Stevenson," (1947 edition by Home & Van Thal). 3. Copy of AMs of genealogy showing the relationship between Robert Louis Stevenson and Graham Greene. 4. Envelope postmarked July 2002 used to send items 2 and 3.
