Container Summary
1 Typed Letter Signed dated 06/23/1977 from Steve Carson to P. William Filby, urging Filby to undertake the "dramatic gesture" of excommunicating the state of North Carolina, declaring it off-limits to manuscript dealers, collectors, and exhibitors in response to the West decision. Carson also writes that the goal of excommunication should be to generate publicity that can be used to enact legislation overturning the West decision. This letter is related to documents contained in Box 2, Folder 4, and Box 2, Folder 5.
