1 Autograph Letter Signed dated Columbus Day 1948 from Edwin Emerson to Ames W. Williams, regarding the possibility of Stephen Crane, as a war correspondent in Havana, Cuba, witnessed the alleged disinternment of Christopher Columbus from a church and returned to Spain. References to Spanish activities during the Spanish-American War, Columbus' son Ferdinando Columbus, and a film scenario of a German translation of an Italian libretto adapted from a Spanish novel of the 18th century fro Beethoven's opera "Leonora." Sent from New York City.
