The Leonard Z. Lawrence Papers contain items related to the construction of the Panama Canal. Included is a lengthy report written by Leonard Z. Lawrence, dated December 1911 to January 1912, regarding issues relating to the dynamite used in construction of the canal, along with photographs of discussed areas and topics. Two letters to Leonard Z. Lawrence from the E.I. DuPont de Nemours Powder Company, dated 1912, are also included. Also contained in this collection is a menu and list of attendees from the reunion of former employees of the Laflin & Rand Powder Company, which took place on March 24, 1924 in Wilmington, Delaware, along with two newspaper articles about the event. The final item in this collection is "Souvenirs of the Panama Canal," an undated published book containing a description and many photographs of the construction of the Panama Canal.
