Wilberforce, E.R. First Bishop of New Castle. Autograph Letter Signed, 4 pages. Dated 9/30/1882. Written shortly after his appointment to New Castle. Commending his correspondent's efforts against "the trade." Mention of temperance work. Wilberforce was an ardent temperance advocate and chairman of the Church of England Temperance Society. Gift of Joseph E. Jeffs and Jeannine L. Jeffs.
