Container Summary

Southworth, E.D.E.N. 2 Autograph Letters Signed. Dated 11/21/1893 and 11/18/1894. The first letter, 4 pages, addressed to her grandson, refers to her thoughts about a trip to Egypt and about an accident that hurt her hand. The second letter, 4 pages, addressed to "My Young Dear Friend," mentions her being libeled and her plan to defend herself through writing. Both sent from Prospect Cottage, Georgetown, Washington, D.C. Purchased from David Holmes Autographs, Philadelphia, PA, 9/9/1993.
