1 Autograph Manuscript journal entry (10 pages) by Dominick Lynch III dated 1849, describing his voyage to Guayaquil, Ecuador. Mentions the American minister in Quito, a voyage inland, a trip to Bogedas, an encounter with crocodiles (referred to as "alligators"), spotting a monkey, seeing a jaguar (referred to as a "tiger"), observing sugar and cocao plantations, dining with a resident, a horse ride on a cocao plantation, a home owned by General Juan Jose Flores (late President of Ecuador), meeting Flores' son-in-law, and meeting the American minister.
