Container Summary

Pre-publication text of and english translation by John Glad of a telegram from Amb Nikolai Novikov, Soviet ambassador to the United States to Molotov. It analyzed aspects of the 1946 world situation as the beginning of a cold war in a manner someewhat parallel to George Kennan's "long cable". The text was distributed to the American Delegation to the Origins of the Cold War Project sponsored by the U.S. Institute of Peace. On Ken Jensen's transmittal memo is the inked notation "Mr. Warnke _ You will find this fascinating. CMC"
