1 Autographed Letter Signed dated 12/20/1878 from Julian Hawthorne to Francis Bennoch thanking him for his kindness and proposing a plan to pay his debts to Bennoch and to Russell Sturgis which includes giving his finished manuscripts over to Bennoch to sell to publishers. He gives an account of his family's thrift in managing their household, and mentions a story of his that is in the "Temple Bar" magazine. Reference to his wife May ("Minne") Hawthorne, his children, the Civil Service Co-operative Association stores, "Bazaar" newspaper, and Mrs. Bennoch. Sent from Hastings, England.
