1 Autographed Letter Signed dated 01/28/1878 from Julian Hawthorne to Francis Bennoch written on black-bordered mourning paper setting out fully the details of a misunderstanding regarding his loan from Russell Sturgis and re-emphasizing his intent to pay it back. He states that he is now being paid 5 pounds per day and adds a note at the back of the letter that he will send to Bennoch a written copy of a review he produced for "Appleton's Journal". Sent from Way's End, Twickenham, England.
