Container Summary

1 Autographed Letter Signed dated 01/25/1878 from Julian Hawthorne to Francis Bennoch written on black-bordered mourning paper responding to details of his financial arrangement with Russell Sturgis which he had not been aware of. He assures Bennoch that he will be able to pay this debt and relieve Bennoch of any responsibility in securing the loan. He describes his actions in directing William G. Peckham to send him the proceeds from the sale of his investments in New York. Reference to the Trinity Building in New York and to Mrs. Bennoch. Sent from Way's End, Twickenham, England.
